Steps to Follow if You Suspect Roof Damage
Schedule a Free Inspection:
Contact Suncoast Roofers to schedule a free, on-site roof inspection. Our team will assess your roof to determine if damage has occurred.Notify Your Insurance Agent:
If damage is confirmed, reach out to your insurance agent to request an inspection. Your agent can also authorize any temporary repairs needed to prevent further damage.Document the Damage:
Take clear pictures of the damaged areas before any repairs are made. This documentation will be helpful for your claim.Handle Temporary Repairs:
Make any necessary temporary repairs to protect your home from further damage. Keep all receipts for these emergency repairs, as your insurance company may require them for reimbursement.Wait for the Adjuster’s Inspection:
Avoid making permanent repairs until your insurance adjuster has inspected the damage. Once the inspection is complete, your insurance company will provide a claim sheet detailing the scope of the damage and the funds available for repairs (minus your deductible).Understand Your Policy:
Many homeowner policies cover full roof replacement costs once repairs are completed, and any depreciation is recoverable after submitting final receipts. However, some policies only cover partial replacements. Contact your insurance agent to fully understand your coverage.
